My artist designed bears are one of a kind sculpted creations. They are not intended to be played with by children. They are to be handled with loving gentle care and not stored in areas where they would collect dust, or get dirty. Please treat very special as they are a one of a kind soft sculptures of fine art. As with all my creations they are non refundable, and all sales are final. All my work is photographed and video tapped for you to make your decision upon purchasing. Please ask all questions, and if you need any further care instructions, please don't hesitate to ask me.
Some of my bears (heads) will have shading or tinting to the faux fur. Normally it is only inside the ears, around the eyes, nose or mouth. I do allow plenty of days, weeks of testing to make sure all is permanent. I need to disclose this so that you are aware and test with a white tissue before storing your baby bears face inside, or against anything of a light fabric. As this is a art bear unlike a manufactured bear. I do not tint the body or limbs, or feet. Feel free to hold, or dress your baby bear. Just keep in mind about it's face and art work. All my soft sculpts I have made over the years in cloth, I have never had a issue with sealed paint not sealing. This is just a disclosure that areas of fur were painted.
Upon any brushing be very gentle and avoid the stitched areas, such as the beaded glass eyes, sculpted nose, mouth, and ears. For small areas, or my much smaller bears you can gently brush and fluff with a clean new toothbrush. Larger bears brush gently when needed with a larger brush or comb. Please always keep your bear dry and indoors. Avoid direct sunlight as with any piece of art is not 100% UV protected.
Unless otherwise stated in my descriptions I generally weight with poly plastic pellets generously, and then they are topped with premium polyester fill. Assembly of joints unless otherwise stated the head and limbs are installed with wooden discs, and secured with cotter pins. To stand your bear, you will need a stand.
I hope you love your LullaBabyBear as much as I loved creating him or her.
Thank you for your adoption!
Birth Certificates names are sometimes left blank unnamed for you to fill in desired name.
Certificates of my Authentic Artistry are to be kept with your bear for future adoptions.
You are most likely a caring person that may already own some baby dolls of your own.
This baby is not like any other regular manufactured collectible doll. This baby is One of a kind and there will be no other doll made exactly like this one, as she was hand painted by me!
Mohair is from a young goat, it is very fine and should be delicately cared for. If your baby has been wearing a hat for extensive amount of time the fabric can actually dry or matt the hair down. Same thing will happen with the baby lying down, the back of the hair can get dry and matt from against the fabric. Many collectors use silk pillowcase covers to lay down under their babies heads to keep the hair soft and silky.
First off it is not recommended or necessary to shampoo the mohair like you may do with artificial doll hair or wigs.
Mohair has been dyed and by doing so you may lighten the coloring.
Styling is best with a soft tooth brush and only moistening the brush lightly to then style the mohair very gently. Do not tug and pull on strands, keep in mind the hairs are glued on inside of vinyl. Tugging and pulling on hair when styling can eventually break or pull out rooted hair.
Do not put babies head under the faucet, or saturate the head with water over spraying. You want to keep your styling process mainly on the hair.
Some collectors like to use their favorite conditioner watered down in their distilled water.
Many use this Baby Care Product from "Noodle and Boo" it is the "Hair Polish Leave In Conditioner". It already comes in a spritz bottle. This is a condition and style no rinse formula. Don't spray directly on your babies head, mist the small tooth brush. You don't need very much.

*Note: Use at your own risk, I am only sharing what other reborn collectors mention that they like using. I have only tried it for a short while and so far it feels nice and smells like a baby product.
**I am not an affiliate for this company or Amazon.
Distilled Water is better than hard tap water which can be drying to the mohair. It really is best to keep some distilled water on hand in a spritz bottle that you use to spritz your tooth brush or baby brush when wet styling the hair in between any conditioners you may be using.
Do not lay the baby down on fabrics or clothing until completely dry. Sometimes dyed mohair when wet or humidity can stain fabric, or even vinyl. It's best to keep an eye on how your doll is doing. In storage or when after styling.
What I love doing is styling the hair and allowing to dry and then taking some saran wrap and gently covering the crown of head down wrapped behind ears until it is formed to the crown of head. When you gently remove from head it is amazing how smooth and silky the mohair is from the saran wrap alone.
You could make it a Spa Day for both of you...You could deep condition your hair and cover your head with saran wrap, while your baby is getting a smoothing style cover with saran wrap too!
The cloth body is made by the company that produces the vinyl kits for sale. They are made of doe suede fabric, and come with cable ties, and optional plugs, rings for when attaching the vinyl limbs. If I feel the body is not sewn to my standards, I will double stitch the bodice prior to assembling the baby. Cloth bodies sometimes need to be cleaned, and if you clean I suggest only spot cleaning. Unless you feel the need to remove from limbs and empty filling to clean or replace. That is up to you, and is a common thing collectors will do in the future if the body gets dirty. Or they simply want to refill the body with the amount of stuffing or weight they desire. I am happy to help direct you in how to do this, and where to buy new cloth bodies, or extra fillers.
CUDDLE Soft Doe Suede bodies:
Doe Suede fabric bodies are a different fabric than using flannel fabric, although you would still follow the care instructions below for cleaning. Doe Suede Fabric is soft but not as soft as flannel can feel. The difference is the fabric is more expensive by the yard, and is more durable over time. Flannel is a softer and cost less, has a variety of prints to choose from and is used quite often for cuddle baby dolls. Flannel does not have a tight mesh compared to doe suede fabric. You need to be careful on products you use to fill. You also may need to replace in future years because flannel can show wear if dressed, or handled often. Flannel replacement bodies are about $10 less than Doe Suede
CUDDLE Soft FLANNEL bodies:
These are weighted with a stocking of Poly Plastic Pellets and Poly fill which can be removed from the torso as well as some of the designs for the limbs. The flannel fabric is prewashed prior to sewing to be preshrunk. But I still recommend if cleaning to hand wash and lay flat to dry. Or you can spot clean. Sometimes I offer in other fabric and are not prewashed. Always handwash is my best recommendation. Cuddle bodies are easy to replace and start fresh. Either reach out out to me, or I will direct you where to purchase a new cuddle body. My bodies I do my best to make sure everything is double stitched. But not all fabric cloth bodies will last a long time without a few repairs. It all depends on how much handling before you may need to mend, refresh or replace.
Care of the VINYL: Genesis heat set matte varnish gives a very nice protection and matte finish. And it does make it waterproof if you were to wipe with water, you will see the beading of water drops. I don't recommend cleaning with anything but water and a damp cloth. If you have something that got on your vinyl that needs more than just water, the only thing I have used in the past is a gentle dish soap. Just a little with spot cleaning if necessary. Using harsh cleaners on vinyl could strip the varnish. If the varnish gets stripped there is alternative air dry varnishes that reborn artist do use to give a new top coat of matte finish. You would need to research and or ask for help. Please do not attempt to fix your doll without researching it first. You can always reach out to me for advice.
Dark colored clothing: I have not experienced this happening to any of my dolls, maybe because I prefer to dress my babies in soft pastels and or light colors. But I have heard of some staining happening to not just reborn dolls. This happens to manufactured dolls such as American Girl type and many others. Some clothing depending on the manufacture and how they dyed the clothing, can darken and or stain the vinyl. Especially if humidity is present in your environment and where and how you store or display your babies. If displaying them with dark colored clothing. I suggest that underneath they are wearing white short or long sleeve tshirt, and if against legs there is white baby leotards that you can cut at the length of shorts or pants. I would never go long periods of time displaying with dark colored socks, or reds just to be on the safe side.
Finger and Toe Nails: the delicate little nails are the last area that gets final detail work when completing the doll. I use the same Genesis Heat Set Paint to seal my work. I also paint the nail bed and tips with the same product. If over the years from dressing in tight socks and shoes you see any ware. Your baby can receive a pedicure, there is air dry products that can be applied. Please reach out to me for instructions.
Care of the eyes: My reborns will have glass, silicone, and or acrylic eyes. It will always be mentioned in my listings which type is installed. All can be easily cleaned with a slightly moistened Q-tip. If your doll has glued on artificial eyelashes. Care should be taken to not loosen the glue. If this happens the eyelashes can be replaced, or if not damaged could be reglued back in place. A temporary fix would be Aleene's clear craft glue, just a small amount on a toothpick. You can always ask for help or advice. Hand rooted mohair eyelashes can get out of place or dry just like the hair on the head. You can use a clean soft tooth brush that has been moistened with water to reshape the lashes in the direction needed. Do not use any harsh products on the rooted mohair eyelashes.
**Lashes are not placed on my Cuddle Baby reborn play doll heads. They can be added when child is much older, or if your an adult collector. They are a easy add on that you can actual learn by watching a tutorial. I will add that to my channel~ on youtube. @LullababyNurseryLullababies
Your baby may come with a magnetic pacifier or hair bow. Magnets are small and can be powerful enough to be able to hold an accessory on to the vinyl. These are called Neodymium magnets, also known as earth magnets. The warnings from the dealers are for all their sizes, they do not specify which size is less harmful:
1) can harm magnetic storage media, electronics, and or credit cards.
2) can harm computer monitors
3) can effect pacemakers
4) can be swallowed, or chocking hazard by a child, and or pet if they get detached from pacifier
Please keep pacifiers and magnetic hair bows away and out of reach from children, pets, and anyone that would put in their mouth.
Also warn any person who has a pace maker to not hold the baby up to their chest.
It is unknown the strength that may come in contact with someone with a pacemaker. I do not use large Neodymium magnets. Mine are much smaller and or thinner than sizes I have seen used. I still need to give you warnings and or cautions from the manufacturer for all sizes.
I am not liable once you have purchased and I have mentioned this clearly in my description and or care instructions. If you didn't take the time to read. I also add little small reminders in the gift bag upon opening your box.
REMOVAL OF MAGNETS INSTRUCTIONS
I have included a extra zip tie for the neck and follow these steps below:
You simply use small nail clippers or cutter to gently clip the plastic cable tie on the back of the neck. Be very careful to not cut the fabric casing or vinyl.
Once the head is off, you remove the weighted filler from inside head.
Sometimes the stocking bag is near the bottom that is holding the glass beads, or poly pellets (whichever was used stated in my listing).
You will need to gently pull a small amount at at time until the bag will come out. As well as the added poly filler.
After getting the filler out, you will see the magnet or magnets used inside the head. You can then use a flat screwdriver or flat butter knife to lift under the glue that is holding the magnet in place.
After your done, you simply refill the fillers back into the head the same way they came out. Weight should be towards the back of the head for a sleeping baby. And for a awake baby you place the weighted at bottom near neck.
All the poly fill should be put back in place just enough to fill the cavity of the head, but not forced to distort the shape of the face.
Finally you slide the new cable tie back into the neck cloth casing.
Put the head in place and tighten the cable tie just enough where it is secure but still turns side to side.
Take a pair of nail clippers or tool that will cut very close to not leave a sharp edge. If you have a sharp edge after cutting, you can use a nail file to smooth the plastic from snagging any clothing.
For the pacifiers you can do the same and pry up under the glue that is holding the magnet to remove. And you can still use the pacifier for posing accessory.
Same with hair bows, remove the magnets and you can glue bow or sew to a baby size headband instead.
I don't ever recommend hair clip bows on rooted mohair, over time you will break and damage the hair.
PACIFIER CLIPS AND BEADS...WARNING!
Clips and beads are not for young children to use with dolls, or play with. They are a choking hazard and as a parent you need to keep them away from a child, or pet. I DO NOT MAKE THESE FOR HUMAN CHILDREN. They were never tested for humans. Designed only for much older youth, or adult doll collector.
I have this clearly stated in my descriptions wherever I have them listed for sale, as a doll prop, or photography prop only. NOT FOR CHILDREN.
That tells me your really care about your baby, and that you love her or him enough to treat it well...just like a real baby. Gentle care and this baby will last for generations. I have some that I painted two decades ago with the same Genesis paints and varnish and they look the same as the day I painted them. Although I keep all my dolls mostly in their boxes in a climate controlled room. I don't always display unless it's for the holiday's. Maybe someday I will have a nursery display room. I am in the process of photographing my personal collection and will be adding to my website for sharing. All this takes time, and I really would rather be making babies then working on my web pages.
Thank you again for taking the time to read my Care Instructions!
Enjoy your new baby...Dolly Hugs!
